There are numerous books, magazines and newsletters with Travellers and Gypsies as their subject. The Gypsy Roma Traveller Achievement Service has its own well-stocked library which can be browsed upon request. We have also produced publications of our own. See the Our Service publications section for further details. There are also a couple of Traveller based radio programmes that you can find out about on this page
National magazine devoted to helping Gypsies and Travellers and those who work with them.
Travellers' Times is the national magazine for Gypsies and Travellers edited by Bill Laws.
Travellers' Times helps Gypsies and Travellers, and people who work with Gypsies and Travellers, to share information, contacts, news and views.
Traveller Times is produced by the Rural Media Company, which works throughout the UK. We combine community and informal education, training and advocacy with the professional skills of the media industry. The results are effective, high-impact, high quality media projects and educational materials at the cutting edge of current policy and debate.
The Irish Travellers Movement seeks to raise the profile of Irish Travellers in Britain and increase their say in decision making processes and forums. The ITM seeks to challenge discrimination and develop national policies that ensure the inclusion of Irish Travellers in all levels of society.
The movement regularly produces a newsletter that can be downloaded from their website.
Sevdija D. Abdulova has worked as a journalist and anchor-women in the Roma news department of Macedonian Television for 11 years that informs its audience on Romany affairs in Macedonia and abroad. They broadcast 30 minutes-length Roma news 3 times a week. One of the most important aims of the department is to promote the activities of the Roma individuals and organisations and to motivate them to continue with their successful work. Once a month they broadcast their own documentary program on Roma issues and Sevdija has few contacts with Romani organisations. If you have any news about Roma people then she would be very interested to hear from you. Send information to this address.
'Rokker Radio' is presented by Jake Bowers every Sunday evening. Jake is one of Britain's only Romani journalists and is a regular contributor to The Guardian newspaper and BBC Radio 4.
